Riverdale suffers volleyball loss

Kickapoo passed the first test of the WIAA volleyball tournament with a sweep of the Riverdale Chieftains.  The scores Tuesday night were 25-13, 25-14, and 25-14.  

The Panthers never trailed in any of the sets on the way to improving to 15-9.  Harmonee Wenger, a Senior, led Kickapoo on the night including 7 kills in the 3rd and final set.  Senior Gwenne Frederickson had 9 kills and an ace during the match and sophomore Annabelle Oliver led the way with great sets.  Kickapoo will play at Brookwood on Thursday night in the 2nd round of the tournament.  The Falcons had a first round bye.

Riverdale Seniors that played their last high school volleyball match include Kennedy Couey, Zuri Dennis, Kierra Prochaska, and Kloe Franklin.  The Chieftains final season record is 3-19.

The Ithaca Bulldogs will host North Crawford in Thursday action in the second round as the Trojans picked up a win Tuesday night against La Farge/Youth Initiative.
