Volunteers Name Top Food Carts in Madison

MADISON, Wis. (WMDX) – People who won the coveted spot of food cart reviewer have ranked the best ones in Madison. 

A couple months ago, the city of Madison asked for volunteers to review Madison food cart applicants. Staff said more than 900 people applied. There were only 22 spots. 

Once those 22 people were chosen, they had about a month to try food trucks around the city. They were required to review 80% of applications. 

38 food carts applied for the 2025-26 season. Typically, food carts set up on the Capitol Square and on the Library Mall. Volunteers ranked the food carts, and the ones that score the highest get first pick of their designated location for the season. 

The top scorers were:

• Surco Peruvian Foods 
• Braisin’ Hussies 
• Bulgogi Korean Tacos
• Dairy Godmother 

Food carts start the 2025-26 season on April 15, 2025.
