Racine’s Festival Park unveils Bavarian Biergarten for Grand Re-Opening Festivities
RACINE, Wis. (WRJN) — Racine’s Festival Park on the lakefront is celebrating its grand re-opening with a Bavarian-themed Biergarten on May 17-18. Officials with 5KEvents say the two-day, family-friendly event starting tomorrow promises a taste of Germany and will feature of a taste of what’s to come this summer at the park.
Event details online show a lot being offered, including a wide selection of German and craft beers, hard ciders, sausages, pretzels and other classic Bavarian fare. The park setting will be transformed into a traditional Biergarten atmosphere.
Live music is a part of the celebration. On Friday, classic rock band Lynette and the Rock Daddies will perform. Saturday’s lineup includes jazz artists Warren Wiegratz and Mike DeRose from 3-5 p.m., followed by classic rock/blues group Mean Jake from 6-9 p.m.
Stein-hoisting contests are planned over the course of the two days, giving guests a chance to showcase their strength and stamina. Traditional German steins and beer boots will be available for purchase.
The Biergarten is a rain-or-shine event. Admission is free, but guests are encouraged to register in advance at FestivalPark.com using the promo code “Welcome2024”. If you do that, you have a chance to win door prizes.
