Baraboo voters rejected the $69.9 million Baraboo school district referendum on Tuesday according to the unofficial results from the Sauk County Clerk’s Office. According to the results, 3376 voted yes for the referendum and 4409 voted no for the referendum.
The City of Baraboo also had two contested City Council seats.
In district 3 incumbent Bryant Hazard defeated challenger Travis Wisner with 262 votes and Wisner received 190 votes.
In district 9 incumbent Mary Kathleen Thurow was defeated by challenger Brett Topahm. Thurow received 243 votes and Topham received 245 votes.
In the Baraboo School Board Race incumbent School Board President Kevin Vodak was defeated by challengers Ken Ziegler who received 3,521 votes and Karen Nelson receiving 3,920 votes to Vodak’s 2,529 votes. Katie Kalish, the other current school board member did not seek another term.
According to the results from the Sauk County Clerk’s office there was 50% voter turnout for the April 1st election.
