A second illegal immigrant was convicted yesterday in Fond du Lac County Court stemming from the sexual assault of a young girl in March of 2024. Juan Carlos Rocha Mejia was convicted of first degree sexual assault of a child after pleading “no contest” to the charge.

His co-defendant Elia Antonio, the mother of the victim, was previously convicted of human trafficking of a child, failure to protect a child, and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping.

Both Rocha Mejia and Antonio will be sentenced on August 21st. They were both illegally in the United States.

Antonio gave her daughter to Rocha Mejia for $250 to be sexually assaulted. He held the victim in a van and tried to duct tape her as he began to sexually assault her. She fought back, biting him, and escaped from the van running to a nearby residence.

District Attorney Eric Toney says yesterday’s conviction was another step towards justice for the victim.
