MADISON, Wis. – Beloved Babcock Dairy is recalling two flavors of ice cream because there may be unmarked allergens inside.

They’re recalling the Orange Custard Chocolate Chip and Chocolate Peanut Butter flavors of ice cream. A customer called on November 4 to say they had the wrong flavor in their container.

Staff determined some chocolate peanut butter containers were actually filled with orange custard chocolate chip. That means the cartons did not have the correct allergy warnings on them.

People with allergies to eggs or yellow dye #5 could be at risk if they consume it. They said there’s nothing wrong with the ice cream itself, people without those allergies are welcome to eat it.

The ice cream was sold right at Babcock Hall, Metcalfe’s Markets, Ken’s Meats and Deli, and Capitol Centre Market.
