MADISON, Wis. (WMDX) – After packing Camp Randall for two nights in a row, Morgan Wallen left a music legacy for Madison students.

Wallen’s concerts at Camp Randall may have been the largest in Wisconsin history. UW-Madison staff said more than 100,000 people attended the two-night run June 28 and 29.

After the shows, the Morgan Wallen Foundation donated almost $12,000 worth of instruments to Lake View Elementary School. That includes glockenspiels, metallophones, xylophones, bells, mallets and ukeleles.

Lake View falls under the category of a high poverty school, according to the Department of Public Instruction. That means at least 60% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch.

“We are deeply grateful for this generous gift to our school community,” said Lake View principal Nou Vang-Vue. “Music helps our students build confidence, express themselves and find joy, and this donation gives us the tools to expand access and deepen that experience.”

The new instruments will be used starting this fall.
