How you can weigh in on future changes to the Beltline
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is planning long-term changes to the Beltline, and so many people have weighed in that they're extending the feedback deadline.
Listen:
MADISON, Wis. (WMDX) – The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is considering the long-term future of the Beltline, and they want your input.
WisDOT is working on big picture plans to update traffic patterns on the Beltline. Changes could include the 20-mile stretch between Middleton and Cottage Grove.
Some of their ideas include removing some traffic lights on Verona Road, which could ease congestion on the Beltline there.
Staff told the State Journal they’ve already gotten more comments than they usually would on proposals like this. They want to give everybody time to weigh in.
The public feedback period was supposed to end January 15. Now, they’ve extended it to January 31 so more people can share their feedback.
