In non-conference girls’ basketball on Monday night, Highland defeated Riverdale 53-46. The Cardinals maintained an edge through the night; however, Riverdale kept it close.
Highlands’ balanced scoring and rebounding edge helped put them over the top in the scrappy battle.
Highland was led in scoring by Sophia Tarrell and Adilyn Esser who each netted 16. Riverdale was led by Macy McCay who had 18 points (10 from the free throw line), and Allie Goplin who made two three pointers on the way to 12 for the night.
With the win, Highland is now 12-4. Riverdale fell to 8-9 with the girl’s basketball loss.
