
Hillsboro held off Riverdale 62-58 in boys basketball. The game was very close throughout. The Tigers led the Chieftains 26-25 at halftime. A two point basket from the Tigers Malekai Simpson in the closing minute gave the visitors a 4 point lead which they were able to hold after the Chieftains missed two long 3 point attempts in the closing moments.
The Tigers’ Bran Jirschele led all scores with 28 points. He made 6 three pointers. Miles Ravenscroft added 15 including 4 threes.
Riverdale had 4 players in double figure scoring. Owen Blankenship had 16, Henry Drone totaled 14, Enerel Gantugla totaled 13, and Bevyn Dennis scored 11. The Junior is now 7 points away from totaling 1,000 in his career at Riverdale.
With the 62-58 win, Highland is now 9-5 overall and will take on Brookwood tonight. Riverdale is 2-12 and will host Fennimore on Thursday night.
