
Richland Center boys drop a game to Sauk Prairie, prepare for River Valley
Sauk Prairie won a boys basketball game at Richland Center High School on Tuesday night.
The Eagles improved to 11-4 on the season with a 66-37 win over the Hornets. Richland Center struggled on offense and a 20-1 run by their opponent before halftime made it difficult to have any thoughts of a comeback.
The Eagles were led in scoring by Lincoln Ganser and Boden Bruenig who each had 11 points, four players added 8 points each including Brendon Marquardt, Otis Andres, Braun Meyer, and Jameson Paukner. Sauk Prairie had 5 three point baskets and went 14 for 22 from the line.Richland Center was led in scoring by Brady Dosch with 13, while Jayden Schoepp added 11, Will Weiss scored 5, Grayson Clements, Deakyn Heisz, Liam Fingerson, and Connor Stoltz all had 2 points.
The Hornets made 5 three pointers and went 4 for 9 from the line. Coach Brian Puls announced yesterday that Hornet Junior Kyzan Schwichtenberg will now be sidelined for the rest of the season after a previous injury.The JV 1 game belonged to Sauk Prairie as they held off the Hornets 58-30 in the early game.The Hornet Varsity is no 4-9 and will return to conference action on Thursday night as they rematch with River Valley.
Richland Center won the first game of the season against the Blackhawks. Sauk Prairie will play at Mount Horeb for it’s next contest.
